Plastic or Paper?

There are many trends coming in for Spring 2010, including PLASTIC. Designers, such as Burberry Prorsum, Chanel, and Prada, have all contributed to this new and arising trend.

IDLM (IDontLikeMondays) also sell adorable Vivienne Westwood plastic shoes! Here are a couple of the shoes they just got in.

Question: Where will you find things like these at a cheaper price?

Answer: To find bracelets and purses, you could always start looking at the Marc Jacobs store in the West Village. The only problem: There’s always a line to get in.

Unfortunately, there’s really no other place that carries these to die for shoes! The shoes range from $130 – $150.

Looking to find unique graphic tees? Brooklyn Industries is having a “mega sale” on their apparel. There’s not much to say, but go get some t-shirts! Although their clothing isn’t for everyone, the shirts themselves are incredibly soft and some of them are pretty simple. In addition to t-shirts, they have other products such as skirts, dresses, pants, jeans, and blouses. For the MEGA SALE, you can purchase things up to 70% off!!!

Here’s a preview of some of their stuff:

I hope you all make it to the mega sale!

'Tis the Season to be a Vampire?

Have you ever noticed how many designers in the fashion world have taken vampires to an apparel level? From movies such as Twilight, Rodarte’s “goth-inspired” look has made it onto the runway at last year’s Spring 2009 show

Givenchy also took this so-called trend and made it look absolutely elegant.

Somehow looking like a vampire has become the most recent BIG thing, but surprisingly, that’s not a surprise… There are so many current movies and TV shows that people (mostly teens) are getting in to, such as Twilight: New Moon (which opened not to long ago), Vampire Diaries, True Blood, etc. To those Twilight fans, Team Edward or Team Jacob? *leave a comment!

Little Monsters!

Have you seen the movie Where the Wild Things Are? Many things in fashion right now are very BIG, hairy, and maybe even cute. On one of my many favorite online stores, IDontLikeMondays, there is an artist, Shin Murayama, who takes monsters to another level and transforms it into something between apparel and art.

Most of his artwork on IDLM are sold out!! A brand who has also taken upon this monster theme is Open Ceremony. Their clothes have literally taken inspiration from the movie. This idea is great! IT’S AMAZING! Why wouldn’t you want to dress like you just came out of Where the Wild Things Are?! These clothes don’t just keep you warm during this freezing winter in the Big Apple, you’ll look adorable! There are multiple Open Ceremony stores in cities around the world, including New York, Tokyo, and LA! I hope you take a look at both of these sites.

Lady Gaga has also made appearances with monster-inspired outfits, which are just indescribably fantastic. Even though I don’t think anyone but Lady Gaga can make this look beautiful, it doesn’t stop people from wearing furry onesies and masks!
